It seems that I got both the graphics above and the calendar functions working. It didn't really take much on my part except a bit of reading since the Joomla interface is actually starting to make sense now.
I would say that there's one new graphical thing to fix and that's the footer part of the webpage. The next technical aspect to include would be the gallery bridge, having to go to the standalone installation of gallery seems like a waste of time ;) My only concern here is what will happen with the gallery theme, we'll see...
